Thorsten Lückerath
Thorsten Lückerath studied chemistry with specialisation in applied and polymer chemistry at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and graduated with a thesis on "Dynamic Covalent Single-Chain Nanoparticles (SCNPs) Based on Hetero Diels-Alder Chemistry" within the group of Prof. Dr. Barner-Kowollik in October 2016. As part of a collaborative research project, he spent six months of his master studies at the Centre of Advanced Macromolecular Design (CAMD) of the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Stenzel. After an internship within the Evonik Industries AG, he joined the Weil group at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research (MPIP) in Mainz in March 2017. His PhD is a collaborative project between the Weil group and the Barner-Kowollik group at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and focuses on investigating synthetic polymer chemistry on DNA origami.
PhD topic
Photoinduced chemistry on DNA origami
