Astrid Heck
Astrid Heck studied Biomedical Chemistry at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and graduated as Master of Science in February 2018. During her master studies she had the opportunity to join the group of Prof. Dr. Molly Shoichet for 6 months at the University of Toronto for a research internship. There she worked on bioengineered, injectable hydrogels from chemical modified polysaccharides for enhanced cone progenitor cell delivery. Astrid Heck joined the group of Prof. Dr. Tanja Weil for her master thesis in May 2017. Her research focuses on the chemical design of fusion protein hybrids as biotherapeutics which she is currently pursuing as her PhD thesis.
