Dariush Hinderberger studied chemistry in Heidelberg, Seattle (USA) and at the Technical University Berlin. In April 2001 he joined the group of Prof. H. W. Spiess at the MPI-P and obtained his PhD in March 2004 with EPR-spectroscopic investigations of polyelectrolytes. After a postdoctoral stay with Prof. Arthur Schweiger at the ETH Zurich (Switzerland) he joined the MPI-P in August 2006 as a project leader for EPR spectroscopy, which he applies to study a broad variety of soft matter systems. In august 2010 he submitted his Habilitation entitled: "EPR Spectroscopy for the Molecular Scale Determination of Soft Matter Structure and Function" and received his Habilitation in Physical Chemistry in January 2011.
