Dr. Robert Graf

Robert Graf studied physics at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main and obtained his diploma for his work in the field of solid-state physics with Prof. B. Lüthi on the study of phase transitions induced by the interaction of localized and delocalized electrons in the rare earth compounds. In 1994 he followed the group of Prof. H. W. Spiess, where he gained his PhD from the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz in 1998 with for his work on the application of double-quantum NMR spectroscopy to amorphous polymers under fast magic angle spinning (MAS) conditions. Subsequently he became a staff member of the MPI-P. His scientific interests focus the development of new solid-state NMR methods and applications for the investigation of local structure and molecular dynamics in amorphous and partially ordered solids.
