From the station to the Institute
From the main station you can reach the institute by taxi or bus. When you leave the train station (Hbf), you will find the bus departure platform G to your right.
Buses stopping here leave for the 'Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research'.

The regular tickets (Euro 2.30) can be bought at the vending machine or from the bus driver.
The vending machine also offers a bundle of 5 single tickets ("Sammelkarte Mainz/Wiesbaden) for Euro 9.25.
Alternatively, there are all-day tickets (Euro 5.60 for 1 person and Euro 8.60 for 5 persons). The tickets are valid in the whole Mainz/Wiesbadern area.
The RMV- and RNN Verkehrsverbund tickets are valid for the bus,therefore no extra bus ticket is necessary.
If you carry a long-distance DB ticket with a BahnCard reduction, this may also entitle you to use a bus within Mainz to your final destination. Make sure the ticket says "Cityticket"

All other tickets must be validated on the bus.

Bus number 68 (direction Klein-Winternheim)
Bus number 68 drives directly to the bus stop "Ackermannweg". The institute is on the other side of the street.
The bus leaves every 20 min from the central railway station.

Bus numbers 54, 55 und 58 (destination Lerchenberg, Finthen, and Wackernheim, respectively)
The bus numbers 54, 55 or 58 drives more frequently and also in the evening and on Sunday and stop at "Friedrich-von-Pfeiffer-Weg".
Walk over the pedestrian bridge to the university and follow the street to the right. After about 100 m there is a left curve.
After passing the Mensa (campus cafeteria) follow the walk to the right through the "park".
After the other side of the "park" cross the west parking lot. The white building is the institute. Walking from the bus station to the institute takes about 15 minutes.

Circle-Line 69 (direction: Hauptbahnhof - Uni-Campus - Hauptbahnhof)
NOTE: This bus departs from platform F at Mainz central railway station. Get off at "Duesbergweg". The institute (white building) is located opoosite of the car park outside the University's campus.


At the main entrance (cylindrical part of the building) is the reception. Please announce your arrival there.
If you arrive outside office hours, you can phone your contact person from there.
